Business Development Director, Political

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

They pioneer the integration of data and technology to deliver efficient, effective digital campaigns for progressive candidates and causes, and are committed to building a diverse team. About the Position

Individual contributor role within Business Development, focused on hunting and securing new business. Requires strong writing skills and financial acumen. Highly collaborative — works closely with Business Development, campaign teams, C-suite, and other department heads.


Essential Attributes and Experience

  • 5+ years in political technology, campaigns, or media sales
  • Proposal writing, networking, and pitching to clients
  • Proven track record exceeding sales goals
  • Cold outreach (calls/emails), online demos, in-person pitches
  • Experience with RFP responses and lead follow-up
  • Existing network of progressive organizations and Democratic media consultants
  • Commitment to progressive values, ethics, and confidentiality
  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred), Google Apps, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written/verbal communication; authorized to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Network in Democratic/progressive political and digital markets
  • Strong multi-project management under tight deadlines
  • Track record building and managing sales plans
  • Creative, goal-oriented, results-driven
  • Project management tool proficiency (e.g., Monday.com)
  • Bachelor's degree


Compensation and Benefits

  • $100,000–$120,000 base salary + uncapped commission
